Drug-traffickers gang leader arrested

Lahore: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested Mir Bakhtiar alias Bakhta Pehlwan, head of a notorious drug-traffickers gang and 'Qabza Group', from Sarfaraz Colony, Gujranwala.

The ANF also recovered best quality of Hashish (Charas) weighing five maunds, besides huge quantity of weapons.

According to an ANF spokesman, a special raiding team comprised Deputy Director Hayat Javed, Assistant Director Riaz Soomro, Inspector Muhammad Arshad Khan and led by Joint Director ANF Colonel Manzar Akbar on an information, conducted a raid on the premises of the accused.

The team after strenuous efforts, recovered five maunds of Charas, hidden underneath a bed. The accused was running narcotics business in the city.

The team also recovered a 12-bore repeater, Kalashnikov rifle, two pistols, and huge quantity of bullets from the accused.

The ANF after obtaining remand from the court concerned, has initiated investigation which could lead to more arrests, the spokesman added.
