Brazil's real ends 0.4 pct weaker at 1.786/dlr

SAO PAULO: Brazil's real weakened 0.4 percent on Tuesday to end at 1.786 per dollar on persistent concerns over another potential rise in US interest rates, traders said.

The currency has slumped over the last week amid signs the US economy is still heating up and could force the US Federal Reserve to further increase rates there.

Higher rates could lure investments away from emerging markets like Brazil, putting pressure on the foreign exchange rate.-Reuters
