Encroachers surrender Forest Dept land

SUKKUR: Thirty acres forest land, situated in Ghotki district which remained under illegal occupation of influential people in Ghotki district, was voluntarily surrendered to the forest department here on Tuesday.

The total area vacated from illegal encroachers in Ghotki district has come to 529 acres.

Haji Malhar Shar s/o Shadi Khan Shar, who had been keeping the illegal possession of the land since 1996, voluntarily appeared before the conservator forest Umar Memon at his office, from where he was taken before the SDM Sukkur Mohiuddin Wani.

With this surrender, the total land got vacated from illegal encroachers in Ghotki district comes to 529 acres. Earlier 499 acres land was vacated from encroachers in the campaign which started since 1st February, 2000.

Meanwhile, Umar Memon said that the campaign will be continued till 28th February, 2000 for getting back the remaining 1027 acres forest lands in Adil Pur, and Ghotki Talukas. He welcomed the voluntary surrender of state land by people, and indicated this as a health change in their tendency. APP
