KARACHI: The Pakistan Taxation Club, Karachi Chapter, hosted a reception in honour of the member (direct taxes), CBR, Mansoor Ahmed on Saturday, Syed Ayaz Mahmood, general secretary of the club said in a press release on Monday.

On this occasion the Club's quarterly magazine "Tax Observer" was also re-launched. The function was attended by senior officers of the income tax department, office-bearers and the members of the managing committee of the Club.

Speaking on the occasion, Mansoor Ahmed stressed the need for handwork, efficiency and transparency. He said that the hardworking and dedicated officers would be encouraged and rewarded by the CBR.

He lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Taxation Club in bringing out "Tax Observer". He also read out the message from the CBR chairman highlighting the need and importance of bringing out in-house journals like "Tax Observer."

Earlier, the regional commissioner income tax, corporate region, Karachi, Akhtar Nazar Mian welcomed the chief guest and applauded his services to the income tax department.

Pakistan Taxation Club, Karachi Chapter President Mumtaz Ahmed informed the chief guest about various activities of the Club. He also briefed the Member CBR the contents of the magazine and hoped that it would be a regular feature.

A shield bearing the Club's insignia and a floral bouquet was presented to the chief guest by Mohammed Shafi Malik, RCIT, southern region, Karachi.
