Mexico sets $2.30bn for refining operations

MEXICO CITY: Mexico's oil monopoly, Pemex, announced on Saturday a budget of $2.30 billion (21.83 billion pesos) for its refining operations in 2000 to guarantee the supply of gasoline and other refined products in the domestic market.

Pemex said in a statement that part of the budget would be directed toward projects complementing the overhaul of refineries, new repair projects and maintenance of the production infrastructure.

The plan is part of a three-year budget that will involve a total investment of $6.17 billion (58.58 billion pesos) for overhauling refineries and other operations.-Reuters
