Kidnapped trader released after Rs 0.2m payment
RECORDER REPORT
FAISALABAD: A cotton seed oil-cakes merchant of Khalidabad, Sufi Mohammed Nawaz, who was kidnapped for ransom, has been released by kidnappers after payment of Rs 0.2 million. Local Police totally failed to trace the kidnappers, who had given a dead-line for killing Sufi Nawaz. However, a case under section 356 PPC has been registered and investigation is in progress.
According to details, Sufi Mohammed Nawaz went to the State Bank of Pakistan to purchase prize bonds of Rs 0.2 million. When he came out of the Bank's gate, he was forcibly kidnapped by unknown persons at gun point in a car.
Later, the kidnapper demanded Rs 0.5 million as ransom, but they agreed on Rs 0.2 million, which was paid by the relatives of Sufi Nawaz and he was got released.
