Indian aggressive posture
has endangered regional
security: Sultan
ISLAMABAD: AJK Prime Minister Sultan Mahmood has appealed the international community to take serious notice of the provocative statements and aggressive posture by the Indian leadership which have endangered the regional security.
In a statement, he called upon the peace-loving nations to fulfil their responsibilities to save South Asia from a holocaust.
Vehemently refuting Indian premier's claim on Azad Kashmir, he described it as 'ridiculous'. He said that actually India has unlawfully occupied a part of Kashmir and has deployed over 0.8 million troops to keep its control in the territory through brutal oppression.
The AJK premier said that despite perpetrating worst form of atrocities the Indian government has not been able to quell the spirit of valiant Kashmiris and hoped that the struggle for their just cause would be crowned with success.
He called upon the international community to arrange a plebiscite in Kashmir on the pattern of East Timor so that deprived Kashmiris could be guaranteed their due right.
Condemning the siege of central places in Srinagar and brutal oppression of innocent people of Kashmir by Indian troops, Sultan said that all peace-loving nations should pressure India to stop bloodshed of Kashmiris.
The AJK prime minister said that Indian leaders have intensified state terrorism in the occupied valley and carried out a programme of systematic annihilation of Kashmiri Muslims. He said that business centres owned by the people of Kashmir have been set on fire and the people were being tortured.
Sultan said that Indian leadership has been using all negative tactics to quell the movement launched by the people of Kashmir for realization of their legitimate rights. He added that Indian brutal oppression has further aggravated the situation.
He said the presence of over 0.8 million troops in Kashmir has virtually converted the peaceful valley into a torture cell, creating a scene of death and destruction.
The AJK premier said that Indian troops involved in all sort of moral and war crimes have let loose a reign of terror in the occupied valley.
He said the situation demanded that the world community should take serious note of blatant violations of international conventions and pressure India to honour UN resolutions paving the way for a fair plebiscite to resolve this dispute.ÑAPP
