KARACHI: Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) said on Sunday that PIA Managing Director Arif Abbasi has assured that a comprehensive policy would be evolved for the promotion of engineers working in PIA, according to a time schedule.

A spokesman of PEC said that this assurance was given to PEC delegation led by Engr. S. Jamshed Rizvi, Convener, at a meeting which apprised him of the problems being faced by PIA engineers.

Abbasi also assured the PEC delegation that in future the number of written test would be increased and oral test reduced for promotion.

He also promised PEC delegation that all other problems of engineers working in PIA would be solved sympathetically and assured that preference will be given to graduate engineers at the time of departmental promotion in future.ÑAPP
