Kohsar grid station opens Hesco determined to electrify every nook and corner
RECORDER REPORT
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) chief executive Brig Mohammad Ali Khan said that Hesco fully determined to electrify every nook and corner of its jurisdiction.
Speaking as a chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of 11 kv Kohsar L-9 and L-10 feeders of 132 kv Kohsar grid station here on Saturday, he said time was not far when all cities and villages of interior Sindh will be electrified.
The Hesco chief said that Hesco was making all-out efforts within its resources to energise maximum numbers of feeders, install poles and replace old wires with new ones for smooth supply of electricity to the people of Sindh.
The Hesco chief executive said that time has come to work hard with dedication and honesty in order to bring positive changes for the welfare of the masses.
He said Pakistan is the land of talented people and by working hard with honesty and dedication, these people can change the destiny of the country. If Pakistani people work hard and earned good name abroad, why they have hesitation to work with the same spirit in their own motherland, he asked.
"We should realise our responsibilities and discharge duties with spirit to make the country developed so that it could face the challenges of 21st century," he said.
Brig Khan congratulated the Hesco staff for energising feeders of the Kohsar Grid Station and hoped that after energising of these feeders, the people of the area would receive more benefits.
Hesco (construction, operation) project director Abdul Latif Zafar in his address of welcome informed that these 11 kv feeders would feed supply to the area of Allama Iqbal Operation Sub-Division, comprising units of 9,10 and 11 Latifabad. It would also be useful in building Allama Iqbal Operation Sub-division, a model sub-division, which was already declared by the Hesco chief executive.
He informed that in past, the areas of Latifabad were fed from 132 kv Muhammadi Grid Station and NTPS grid station, but due to rapid increase in load and population growth in Latifabad, the power transformers of the Muhammedi Grid Station were over loaded, resulting in frequent tripping and breakdowns on 11 kv feeders in the peak summer season.
Keeping in view these difficulties, he said, a new 132 kv Kohsar Grid Station was switched in present network with five numbers of new 11 kv feeders.
He said, despite the budget constraints and shortage of materiel, Hesco has constructed 11 kv Kohsar L-9 and L-10 feeders at a cost of Rs 8.82 million.
He said that after construction of these 11 kv feeders, the consumers of Latifabad would enjoy a very stable supply in the forthcoming summer season and the operation division Latifabad would have a substantial reduction in their technical line losses.
The 11 kv L-4 and L-5 feeders are also approved, but construction work could not be started due to non-availability of the steel structure.
He requested to Hesco chief executive for early arrangements of the supply of the steel structure so that remaining re-habilitation work of over loaded 11 kv Fateh and stadium feeders could be completed.
All Hesco directors, superintending engineers and senior officers of attended the inauguration ceremony.
