RECORDER REPORT

HYDERABAD: Asif Ali Zardari Release Committee (AAZRC) President Mubin Ahmed Phulpoto while announcing the decision of the committee at a press conference at the Hyderabad Press Club here on Saturday said that except for the provincial committee, all the divisional, district, Talukas and the women wings had been dissolved.

He said a meeting of the provincial committee would be held at Mubeen House, Khairpur on March 8 at which certificates would be distributed among the workers who had participated in the long march from the Kamu Shaheed to the governor house, Karachi and given tremendous sacrifices in the struggle for the release of Asif Ali Zardari.

He said a workers convention would also be held at Khairpur on the same day and added that he would undertake an exhaustive tour of Sindh to launch a membership drive from February 22 and motivate the workers to Jail Bharo Tehreek for the release of Asif Zardari.

He said a seminar would be held in Hyderabad on April 13 on the subject of 'why the registration of false cases against Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto'.

Phulpoto said that 'fill jail movement' would be launched on April 25 for the release of Asif Ali Zardari and withdrawal of false cases against Benazir Bhutto.

He regretted that despite the lapse of three and a half years, Asif Zardari had not been released, his father Hakim Ali Zardari had been arrested and Benazir Bhutto was forced to live in exile due to the excesses of the government.

Phulpoto pointed out that his opponents had launched a campaign of vilification against him for collecting donations and declared that he had never believed in the politics of donations and called upon the people to get in touch with him if any person approached them for donations in the name of the committee.

He said despite relentless efforts of the committee, Asif Ali Zardari had not been released so far but added that the only consolation was that his tormentors, Nawaz Sharif, Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Saifur Rehman, the former IGP Rana Maqbool themselves were in jail.

The other members of the committee who were present at the press conference included Mushtaq Jokhio, Ashraf Kharal, Hassan Kaladi and Altaf Abbasi.
