Court reserves order

KARACHI: The Special Banking Court has reserved its order until February 26 in the state versus Hubco case, the company in a statement issued on Saturday said.

The court held hearing on Saturday in respect of FIR 59/1998 pertaining to the quashment of the criminal conspiracy case against S Khurshid Hussain, chief executive of the Hubco and for exemption from personal appearance in the court.

Abdul Hafeez Pirzada and Abdul Mujeeb Pirzada appeared on behalf of Khurshid Hussian. FIA asked for time to complete its investigation in the case and said that it required some documents and information from the accused to finalise the challan and charges against him. Khurshid's lawyers questioned the constitutionality of FIA's request.

After detailed hearing, the judge asked the FIA to submit a written response on its investigations.

The Court has reserved its orders until February 26, 2000, company statement said.
