LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) is likely to hold elections for the post of its chairman in forthcoming April.

This was stated by the PAT sources while talking to the Business Recorder here on Tuesday.

Professor Tahir-ul-Qadri, who till now was the life long chairman of the PAT recently took a decision to abrogate his right and hold elections for the post of party chairmanship.

The Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) constitutional committee has already endorsed the decision of Professor Tahir-ul-Qadri for these election.

The party sources claim the decision to hold elections was a timely step to promote democratic traditions in the party.
