CE calls for improving

Fauji units profitability

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Executive, General Pervez Musharraf, on Tuesday stressed the need to enhance profitability of the units of Fauji Foundation which are operating below par.

He made these remarks during a briefing given to him by Fauji Foundation Managing Director, Lt General Mohammad Maqbool (Retd).

The Chief Executive appreciated the recommendations given by the managing director for improving the performance of industrial units of the organisation.

He directed the managing director to forward these proposals to the finance and commerce ministers for further deliberations.

The Fauji Foundation MD apprised the audience about the various industrial projects, associated companies and other ventures undertaken by the organisation.

He gave the details of the 247 welfare projects being financed and run by the foundation countrywide in the fields of health, education and technical training etc.

The MD also identified the potentail areas envisaged for future investment in energy, corporate, agriculture and health sectors.

He later presented a detailed financial summary of other industrial units and gave specific recommendations for improving their performance.

Defence Secretary Lt General Nasim Rana (Retd), Adjutant General Pakistan Army, Lt, General Amjad Shoaib, Wapda Chairman Lt General Zulfiqar Ali Khan and other senior civil and military officers were also present at the briefing.ÑAPP
