Genuine problems of

industrialists to be

solved: Farooqui

NAWABSHAH: Sindh Minister for Industries, Labour and Transport Dewan Muhammad Yousuf farooqui assured that genuine provincial level problems of industrialists would be solved on priority basis while those related to the federal government would be forwarded to the concerned authorities.

He was chairing a meeting of industrialists at Irrigation Rest House here on Thursday.

The minister instructed the director, small industries, to reallot industrial plots to those industrialists whose plots were cancelled earlier. He also directed to provide all the required facilities to these industrialists at the earliest to enable them to initiate the work of industrial units in Nawabshah Industrial Estate established near Public School.

Dewan Yousuf asked the ginners to pay maximum possible rate to the cotton growers in order to enable to meet the expenses incurred in cotton cultivation.

Later the minister visited the Viscose Fibre Limited, set up in the special industrial zone of Nawabshah and now in completion stage, at a cost of Rs 200 million. He went round its various sections.

On the occasion the general manager, Viscose Fibre, briefing the minister said that the plant of Viscose Fibre was one of its kind in Pakistan which was approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and Board of Investment (BOI) on behalf of Pakistan government in 1994.

He said only the connection of natural gas was required for the plant at this stage.

The minister assured that he will discuss the matter with the federal government for its earliest solution.

During visit the minister was accompanied by industries and mineral development secretary Qazi Aijaz, labour and transport secretary Ghulam Sarwar Khero, SITE Managing Director Mir Hussain Ali and deputy commissioner Agha Jan Akhtar.ÑAPP
