Pakistan, Iraq chambers sign trade deals

KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Federation of Iraq Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) have signed two agreements of joint cooperation and protocol of cooperation to encourage and expand technical, scientific, economic and industrial relations and also agreed to promote and facilitate effective cooperation in trade, economic and industrial activities and to establish effective means of communication between companies, private business, organisations and members of both parties.

Fazal-ur-Rehman Dittu, President, FPCCI and Zuhair Abdul Ghafour Younis, Chairman (FICCI) had signed the agreements in Iraq.

Both the parties agreed to introduce programmes and establish appropriate means to facilitate and expand business network to develop the circulation of business opportunities among their members. Trade information and services will be made accessible for both parties' members to facilitate trade contacts and activate joint economic projects.

Both parties agreed to exchange information about laws and regulations related to economic activities, business opportunities, publications and any other information.

Both parties will exchange visits of delegations, trade and economic missions and also arrange and organise, joint meetings.

Both chambers agreed to encourage the participation of their members in international fairs and exhibitions held in both countries and encourage exchange of technical expertise among their members.

Both the chambers agreed to meet on regular basis, alternative basis in Karachi or Baghdad, to review the application of these agreements.
