Improved trading on paper market

LAHORE: Improved trading trend was observed on the paper market here on Thursday.

Dealers said that due to a price hike, their profit margin has increased substantially. However, there is still lack of demand in the market, due to increase in prices by local paper mills following the upward trend in the international market, they added.

They said that the price increase by the local mills is unjustified and uncalled for as they use indigenous raw material in the preparation of their products. Hence, the government should intervene and take notice of this state of affairs, they demanded.

The upward trend is likely to prevail in the market in the near future, they observed.
