Bankers urged to help make Hyderabad beautiful

HYDERABAD: Commissioner Hyderabad Imtiaz Kazi has urged the bankers to come forward and contribute meaningfully in beautification efforts of Hyderabad city.

Talking to zonal chiefs of various banks based in Hyderabad at a meeting held here at Shahbaz Hall, be said that it was our collective responsibility to make Hyderabad city beautiful.

He said that in this context plan had been finalised and 36 intersections are being developed.

He maintained out of 36 intersection, seven had already been taken up by private banks while two are being constructed by government.

He asserted that restoration work of old historical buildings was also under progress and that basant hall was already undergoing development work which would be completed by next month.

He said Holmstead Hall's renovation would be undertaken shortly and a library would also be set up in the hall. He invited the attention of bankers for refurbishing market tower which would also present an attractive look after its renovation. He further said that government would provide all technical support and assistance if needed in this regard.

Later talking to the participants of the meeting, Brigadier Shakeel Ahmed said that there are many problems confronting the city and these are to be resolved as soon as possible. He said sewerage system is to be improved and recreation places are to be developed on priority basis with the active support of bankers and other organisations.

The zonal heads on the occasion, appreciated the efforts for beautification of Hyderabad and assured their full cooperation. The meeting was attended by deputy commissioner Hyderabad, Rizwan Ahmed, S E Building, Shafiq Haider Mossvi, administrator HMC, Shams Jaffarani, SDM city Sohail Rajput and other officers concerned.
