Seminar on 'Judicial Crisis' tomorrow

KARACHI: The adviser to the Chief Executive on Media Development and Information, Javed Jabbar, will be the chief guest at a seminar on 'Judiciary in Crisis' be organised by helpline Trust, in collaboration with Shehri, on Thursday, February 17, 2000, at hotel here. The minister of law, Shaida Jamil, will preside over the proceedings, while the speakers on the occasion will include former judges Abdul Inam and Shafiq Usmani.ÑPPI

Hesco schedule for power shutdown

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) will carry out necessary repair and maintenance work at different grid stations on February 17, 2000. The spokesperson of the Hesco said, here on Tuesday that as a result of repair and maintenance work, the power supply at 66 KV Padidan, Daur Naukot, Mithi, Deepo and Islamkot grid stations will be suggested from 8 am to 2 pm, while power supply from 8 am to 12-noon will be effected at all 11 kv feeders of 132 kv Nawabshah-II grid station.ÑAPP

Vehicles parking prohibited

KARACHI: The District Magistrate, Karachi Central, under Section 144 Cr. PC has prohibited parking of vehicles on Nawab Siddiq Ali Khan Road from the First Chowrangi towards Lasbella bridge from 8.30 am to 12-noon and Lasbella bridge to First Chowrangi from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm. The order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain valid until the period 60 days.ÑPPI

Traffic signal near AKUH

KARACHI: The District Municipal Corporation, East, (DMC-E) has started the work for installation of traffic signal on Stadium Road, near Aga Khan University and Hospital. According to a press release of DMC-E Administrator, Tahir Khurshid, visited the area and directed that the work should be completed in the minimum possible time. He said this spot is very busy and the need of a traffic signal was being left for quite a long time.ÑPPI
