Govt should complete its agenda within two years: Qadri
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Professor Tahir-ul-Qadri said here on Tuesday that the government should complete its agenda in time frame which should not exceed more than two years.
He said after two years the government should democratically transfer power to the people.
He showed his reluctance to give more period to the present set-up and also showed its reservation on the pace of accountability started by the government.
He said the government's resolve to not to handing over powers to the corrupt elements would be a great favour to the nation and was likely to clean up political avenues for all times to come.
Qadri said this commitment must, however, be supplemented by stringent measures. without which this ominous task of cleaning the political mess could not be achieved, he added.
The PAT was also highly critical of the government of Benazir Bhutto during her tenure as prime minister.
