Dist East Panchayat
offices turned into
complaint centres
KARACHI: All "Panchayat" offices in Karachi District East have been turned into complaint centres and the respective Panchayat clerks and sub-inspectors have been made responsible officials for redressal of public complaints.
This was ordered by Administrator, DMC, East, Tahir Khursheed, during a visit on Tuesday to various areas of the district, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Society, Khudadad Colony etc.
He directed that sanitation in the district would be the responsibility of chief sanitary inspector, concerned electrical/mechanical incharge, incharge, parks, and concerned engineer of building and roads.
The Administrator directed the Council Officer to check "Panchayat" offices, which must remain open from 9 am to 4 pm so that people could lodge their complaints.
As regards the sewerage problems, the Administrator asked the concerned officials to post their representatives at Panchayat offices for coordination.
He directed Municipal Commissioner Moinuddin to make it binding for the concerned committee to ensure that all complaints relating to sanitation and sewerage are removed in time.
He said the people can also register their complaints at telephone number 4937280 or send the same to PR department fax no 422110.
Meanwhile, DMC East has started work on installation of traffic signal at Stadium Road, opposite Aga Khan Hospital. The signal is being installed here because of growing danger of accidents.
Administrator East inspected the traffic installation work and directed that it be completed expeditiously.ÑAPP
