Charges framed against Afridi

LAHORE: A judge of Special Court headed by Chaudhry Muhammad Liaqat Ali on Tuesday framed charges against Rehmat Shah Afridi, the editor of an English daily, in a case of drug trafficking.

The court also recorded the statement of a prosecution witness and adjourned the proceedings to March 8. The court also observed that the case will be proceeded on day-to-day basis from the next date of hearing.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had arrested him from Lahore and had recovered 21 kg of charas from him. The ANF had also recovered 651 kg of charas from a truck on his pointation.
