CCTV to monitor
PTCL staff courtesy

KARACHI: A closed-circuit TV monitoring system has been installed in Clifton Customer Service Centre. To monitor the courtesy and efficiency of the staff at the customer services centre.
This was stated by PTCL Chairman, Nasim Mirza at a meeting with the representatives of FPCCI, KCCI, and Korangi Association of Industry and Site Association of Industry at the PTCL regional headquarter, on Tuesday, PTCL Director General, Irfan Ali Khan was also present at the meeting.
The PTCL chairman said this system would also be installed in other customer service centres.
The representatives were also informed by the chairman that fault management system had now been fully computerised in all the exchanges of Karachi and Hyderabad. The rectification of faults was being monitored by the director general, respective general manager and zonal director. The fault positioning for more than 72 hours are specially dealt with ensuring that rectification is done expeditiously unless there are valid reasons/major cable faults.
Other matters such as bill delivery system and 17 telephone director assistance system were also discussed and all recommendations and suggestions by the representatives of the associations were noted for further action.
The representatives generally appreciated the improvements which have been provided in the services of the PTCL over the last two/three years with special reference to Karachi. It was also agreed that such meetings should be held periodically to ensure implementation of the valuable comments/suggestions of the members of the various chambers.
