HBL staff converted deficit
into profit, says Tarin

KARACHI: Efforts of the officials and workers have converted Habib Bank from a deficit of Rs 10 billion to a profit of Rs 2 billion.
This was stated by the outgoing HBL president, Shaukat Tarin while speaking on the occasion of the joint farewell and welcome dinner given by the Officers Welfare Association (OWA) and HBL Employees Union.
Tareen said the bank had been recognised on modern lines, the staff has been motivated by increasing the salaries and fringe benefits. The staff has also been imparted professional training on lines of modern banking.
Tarin said he was setting a new tradition by leaving the bank at the right time.
He said he had joined the institution as a Citibanker, but after three years of service leaving it as a true "Habibian."
HBL President Zakir Mahmood, lauded the services of Shaukat Tarin and assured him to pursue the policy of change and betterment introduced by him.
He laid more emphasis on the cusotmer services and said he was ready to listen to the bankers to solve their problems.
OWA Secretary General Babar Nawaz and HBL Employees Union (CBA) General Secretary thanked the outgoing president and welcomed the new chief.
