KARACHI: KFC's franchise in Pakistan is owned by Artal Restaurants International (ARI), a subsidiary of Artal Granasia Ltd., a Belgium-based food co., which also owns, AVA (premium drinking water), Harry's Bread & M. Artal Poultry. ARI managed to open it's first KFC restaurant in Pakistan on 20th Jan '97 at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. Ever since KFC restaurants have been flourishing in different cities of Pakistan. The most recent addition is at Defence commercial area, Karachi which, has brought the total number of KFC outlets in Pakistan to 16. The distribution of outlets in Pakistan is as follows: 10 in Karachi, three in Lahore, one in Hyderabad, one in Faisalabad and one in Rawalpindi.
