Air Chief

leaves for S Lanka today

ISLAMABAD: A PAF delegation headed by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Parvaiz Mehdi Qureshi, is proceeding on an official visit to Sri Lanka and Singapore from February 15 to 24, a PAF release said.

During his stay in Sri Lanka, the Chief of Air Staff will meet Air Marshal Jayalath Weerakkody, Commander of Sri Lankan Air Force, General Rohen De Daulwatta, General Officer Commanding of Joint Operations Command Sri Lanka, R. K Chandrananda De Silva, Secretary Ministry of Defence and Vice Admiral HCAC Tissera, Sri Lankan Navy Commander. The Chief of the Air Staff will also visit various installations of Sri Lankan air force.

On the second leg of the tour, the Chief of Air Staff will visit Singapore where he will attend Millennium Air Power Conference. He will attend opening ceremony of Asian aerospace-2000 Exhibition where Gho Chuk Tong Prime Minister of Singapore will be the chief guest. The air chief will also meet Dr. Tony Tan, deputy prime minister and minister of defence Singapore and Major General Raymund, Chief of Singapore Air Force. On his departure from Islamabad, the Air Chief was seen off by Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Marshal Zahid Anis and other senior officers of the Pakistan Air Force.ÑAPP
