300 Thai couples married underwater

BANGKOK: More than 300 Thai couples celebrated Valentine's Day by getting married underwater, on moving skytrains and in Bangkok's "village of love".

In the sea off southern coastal Trang province, about 800 kms (500 miles) south of Bangkok, 30 Thai couples as well as some Westerners exchanged wedding rings underwater, the ceremony's organisers told Reuters.

In central Bangkok, hundreds of commuters were surprise guests at a mass wedding of 52 couples on board moving trains on the city's elevated rail system.-Reuters
