Plan to enhance
Sindh education
standard
chalked out
KARACHI: First 10 position holders and their teachers will be given gold medals, cash prizes and merit certificates.
This will be a part of a comprehensive programme chalked out by the Sindh Education Department to enhance the standard of education in the province.
According to an announcement of the SED, first 10 position holder of an intermediate board of the province will be given gold medals, cash prize of Rs 10,000 each and a certificate of excellence while Rs 5,000 will be given to first 10 position holder at the SSC level and similarly 100 scholarships will be given from Class VIth to Class VIIIth level in each district of the province.
A decision to this affect was taken at a meeting presided over by the Sindh Education Secretary which was attended by additional secretaries, directors of School, College, Technical Education and Bureau of Curriculum.
The meeting also decided to take steps to remove illegal occupants from school buildings and the concerned directors were asked to move their respective officials of district administration.
The meeting also discussed a plan to check use of unfair means during examinations.ÑAPP
