MCPC elects office-bearers

FAISALABAD: New body of the Muslim-Christian Peace Council (MCPC) for the next three year term has been announced with Maulana Zia ul Qasmi as its chief patron.

Pir Mohammed Ibrahim, Chairman of the MCPC, announced the new body during a peace seminar held in Evangelic House, here on Sunday.

The following are other MCPC office bearers:

Patron: Rev Joseph Coutts, Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Faisalabad;

Chairman: Pir Mohammed Ibrahim (provincial Chief MPL ulma Wing); Senior Vice Chairman: Father Simon, Vice chairmen: Qari Hanif Bhatti, Haji Sheikh Taj Mehmood, and Father Khalid Rashid Asi, Chief Organizer: Bishop Javed Albert, General Secretary: Johnson Michael, Deputy Secretary General: Khalil Tahir, Press Secretary: Dr. I.C. Naeem, Additional Secretary: Syed Jaffer Shah and Coordinator: Dr. Altaf Khan.

The MCPC chairman said that the provincial and divisional bodies of the council would be announced later.
