Farewell reception for Shaukat Tarin

LAHORE: Officials of the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) arranged a reception to say farewell their out-going President, Shaukat Tarin, and welcome the new President, Zakar Mahmood, at the Regional Headquarters here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaukat Tarin said that he was touched by the sentiments expressed by the officers of the HBL about his stay and achievements with this premier bank. He said that it was the support of the workers, which enabled him to make a turn around in this mega financial institution. Tarin said that he had to take bold decisions like mandatory retirement for right-sizing of the institution with heavy heart but it was necessary for its future.
Expressing his future course of action, incoming HBL President Zakar Mahmood said that although the bank had started making profits following the prudent management of Shaukat Tarin led team of managers, there was a lot to do yet. He said that he had believed in development of manpower, which was necessary to improve the standard of services offered by the HBL.
Zakar Mahmood renewed his pledge to improve the standard of the banking services, which according to him, was continuous phenomena.
Regional Chief Executive and head of Retail Banking Group (North) Hamid Mukarram Baig welcomed the new chief and assured him full support for the uplifting services and standard of the bank. He was optimistic that the new president would continue with the changes, introduced by Shaukat Tarin.
Group Executive of Corporate Banking Mian Asif Said and Head Retail Assets Remedial Management Sagheer Qureshi also spoke on the occasion.
