CE urged to reject foreign service officers' representations

ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division has requested the Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf to reject the representations of the foreign service officers regarding non-promotion, it is reliably learnt.

Sources said that Central Selection Board-I had considered the seven cases of BS-21 officers of Foreign Service Group for promotion but deferred them for some reasons.

All the seven officers have filed an appeal to the Chief Executive regarding their non-promotion.

The Establishment Division has informed the Chief Executive's Secretariat that under Section 22 of the Civil Servants Act 1973 and Civil Servants (Appeal) Rules, 1977, "no representation shall lie on matters relating to the determination of a fitness of a person to hold a particular post or to be promoted to a higher post or grade".

The officers who had made representations included Azmat Hassan, Naeem Uddin Hassan, Mushtaq A Mehar, Tayyab Siddiqui, M Tariq Osman Hyder, Aftab Hussain Syed and Asif Ezdi.
