Arrest warrants against two Punjab secretaries
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday issued arrest warrants for Secretary Communication and Secretary Housing Punjab for not complying with the court orders.
The Court also issued contempt notices to both secretaries for February 28 to appear and explain their position.
The Court took action on identical petitions filed by Abdul Malik and others who submitted that the government had unlawfully built quarters of 'Wafaqi Colony, Lahore' at their personal lands and they had approached the court which had directed the secretaries to vacate the quarters and hand them over to legal owners.
They further submitted that the government had filed appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court orders but the Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal.
The petitioner submitted that now again they had to knock the door of the court as the said secretaries were committing contempt of court by not vacating the quarters. They prayed the court to summon and direct them to vacate the quarters and hand the same over to them.ÑAPP
