780 women seek

help from crisis centres

ISLAMABAD: As many as 780 women have sought help from the five 'Women Crisis Centres' established in five cities of the country.

According to Women Development Division sources here on Friday, out of the total lot 291 women have sought legal help, 55 medical aid while 60 have been sent to Darul Aman. These kinds of assistance are being provided free of charges to needy women at the centres established at Islamabad, Vehari, Lahore, Sahiwal, Karachi and Peshawar.

The problems o 480 women have been alleviated while the Islamabad crisis centre has provided financial assistance of Rs 8,000 to 12 women to help them become self-reliant for earning their livelihood.

Sources said that steps are being taken to impart training in skills other than sewing and stitching to the women folk.

These centres would impart training in latest techniques.ÑAPP
