SRINAGAR: Six people including three women were killed and three more women injured when unidentified gunmen stormed into two houses and fired indiscriminately at the inmates at Palpura Patan, some 30 kilometres from here, said Indian army spokesman while briefing the newsmen.

He said that the militants fired upon the inmates indiscriminately with their automatic weapons resulting in on the spot deaths of three persons and injuries to six others. Three of the injured later died in the hospital, he added. The injured were all women admitted to a hospital.

People of the area have refused the Indian army spokesman's charge on the militants and said that gunmen who entered in the house were not Kashmiris.

Meanwhile two persons killed and two injured in a bomb blast in Sealdah Express train at 27 kilometers from Jammu, the winter capital of strike torn Himalayan state of Jammu Kashmir.

The blast occurred in AC coach of the Sealdah bound train, as a result of which 10 bogies of the train derailed. Two persons died in the blast and tow others received injuries.

Railway traffic on the Jummu Pathankot line has been suspended.ÑPPI
