Bar should play its role in providing speedy justice

BAHAWALPUR: Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Mian Allah Nawaz has said that it has been decided to root out corruption from the judiciary to make it a prestigious institution in the real sense of word according to the teachings of Islam.

Addressing at a reception given by the Bahawalpur High Court Bar Association in his honour at Circuit House Wednesday night, the Chief Justice said that corruption in the judiciary would not be tolerated at any cost.

He said that Bar and Bench are the integral part of judiciary and without the co-operation of Bar it could be difficult to eradicate corruption from the judiciary.

He said that Bar should play its pivotal role in providing speedy justice to the people.

Chief Justice said that judges would be elevated purely on merit.

Earlier, president High Court Bar, Mian Muhammad Bashir in his welcome address apprised the Chief Justice of the problems of the lawyers community of Bahawalpur. The reception was attended by the judges of Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur Bench, subordinate courts, Lawyers and notables of the town. APP
