Falettis Hotel sell-off: LHC disposes of petition
Recorder Report
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday disposed of a petition as withdrawn, challenging the privatisation of the Falettis Hotel, Lahore.
The counsel of the Privatisation Commission, Raja Mohammad Akram, submitted that the privatisation process of the Falettis Hotel was started by the previous government, but after its removal, the present government gave up this idea.
Riaz Hussain Gillani, advocate, withdrew his petition after the submission.
The petitioner had contended that the hotel is a historic place where the Quaid-e-Azam used to stay.
He said some other prominent personalities, like Justice A R Carnelious, also used to stay and visit it. Hence, such a historic place should not be privatised.
