Charges against serial killer to be framed on 17th
LAHORE: Charges against the self-confessed serial killer, Javed Iqbal, will be framed on February 17 as the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Allah Bukhsh Ranjha, on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the case for eight days.
The Superintendent Police, Model Town, submitted the record regarding the case to the court.
The court after enquiring about the financial condition of Javed Iqbal and his accomplices, assured that the state would provide separate counsels to defend their case.
Javed Iqbal prayed to the court that he had courted his arrest in the national interest.
He said that he could not be arrested by the police due to its inefficiency.
He pleaded that his accomplices were not culprits. The court directed the alleged serial killer to record his statement after charges were framed against him on February 17.
The alleged killer said that he was ready to face every punishment for the crime he had committed.
The prosecutor prayed that the hearing of the case may be conducted inside the jail.
The court, however, said that the decision in this regard could be taken by the government.ÑAPP
