JAWAID Govt imposes security fee on bike dealers to curb forgery

SARGODHA: In order to curtail fraud and forgery in the business of sale and purchase of motorcycles the government has fixed Rs 70,000 security besides Rs 6000 annual registration and renewal fee from the shohroom owner doing this business.
But with the blessings of excise department more than one hundred showrooms here were doing business without security and registration this causing loss of millions rupees to public exchequer.
None from here amongst the registered dealers have reportedly refused to pay the security. However some dealers obtained favour of excise department to collect the same from them in three years installment.
The citizens lauded the decision of government to collect Rs 70,000 cash security from dealers and also demanded compulsory registration of every motorcycle dealer besides maintaining daily record of sale and purchase of motorcycles.
