Air Algerie switches over to Mercator's system

KARACHI: Air Algerie is now operating on a new and enhanced reservations system, the Mercator Airline Reservations System (Mars). This is implemented by Mercator, the Dubai-based provider of systems and solutions to the aviation industry and the IT subsidiary of the Emirates Group.

Air Algerie's contract was signed in June last year between Emirates Group Chairman HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Faycal Kellil, then Air Algerie's President and General Manager.

By November, the migration to Mars was completed between the Mercator and the Air Algerie for 125 offices and 60 travel agencies in Algeria, and 65 overseas offices. The Air Algerie has branded the system Marsah for Mercator Airline Reservations System Air Algerie.

The airline, which operates to 64 destinations worldwide, selected Mercator system from an exhaustive tender process against major airline industry systems providers.
