KARACHI: A passenger ship "Maxim Gorky" carrying 650 tourists and 350 crew members reached Karachi on Monday morning for 12 hours stay.

The vessel is engaged on a world cruise covering all the major ports of the world which tourists may be interested to visit. The last port call was Dubai and the next ports tourist are Bombay, Colombo, Singapore and then Australia onward.

The ship reached East Wharf, Karachi at about 7 a.m and left at 7 p.m for Bombay.

About 90 percent of the tourists on the board are from Germany and the rest from are Holland, Austria, France, Switzerland and USA.

The ship belongs to a German company "Bhoenix" having most modern recreational facilities like swimming pool, basketball court etc.

The tourists immediately on arrival at the Karachi Port, left for Thatta by buses to see the old graveyard of Makli, Chokandi, Thatta Mosque and Hyderabad city.
