ANF recovers 1.5 kg heroin

LAHORE: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday arrested two smugglers at the Lahore airport and recovered 1.5 kg of fine quality heroin from their possession.

An ANF team led by Col. Manzar Akbar, during the body search of the passengers of a Bangkok-bound flight TG-508, recovered the drugs from the baggage of two Negroes and took them into custody.

A case under Narcotics Control Substance Act has been registered against them and investigations are in progress. According to ANF officials, during the interrogation, the smugglers confessed that they were engaged in drug trafficking for a long time.

The purpose of their arrival in Pakistan was to smuggle drugs from tribal areas to other countries, the ANF officials said.
