151 stolen cars recovered

Lahore: City police have recovered 151 stolen and snatched vehicles during the last 30 days following a vigorous drive against the outlaws.

Addressing a news conference here on Monday, City Police Chief, Capt. Zubair Mehmood said that the intensified campaign against the outlaws has shown a visible decrease in car theft and snatching incidents in the provincial metropolis. He stated that recovery of 151 vehicles made during the last one month was an ample proof of the good performance of the police department.

He said that most of the vehicles recovered were included Toyota Corolla, Suzuki Khyber and Suzuki Mehran cars of various models. Out of which, Suzuki Mehran were 20, Suzuki Khyber 24, Toyota Corolla 78, Honda Civic 5, Nissan Sunny 2, Pajero jeeps 5, Suzuki Alto, FX and Swift 1 each.

The SSP said, out of these vehicles, 30 were stolen from various cities across the country. These vehicles were being handed over to their respective owners. Engines and chassis numbers of rest of 121 vehicles were found tempered. Such vehicles were being sent to the science laboratory for detailed examination, he added.
