India rejecting
talks offer due to
unrepresentative
states of govt: PML(N)
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (N) has asserted that India rejected the offer of talks from Pakistan beacause "non-representative of people government" is ruling in the country.
In a statement released on Saturday, the media secretary of PML (N), Anwarul Haq Ramay, said that the Pakistan government was unnecessarily making offers of talks to India as, he said, no talks especially on Kashmir could succeed without a mediator.
He observed that the Indian government's unwise decision of rejecting talks offer has endangered peace in the region and would lead the two countries to nuclear war.
He said that the 'devolution of power' and responsibility plan announced by the government was understandable for the people asking the government to take political parties into confidence and give a programme for restoration of democracy in the country.
Ramay said that the PML (N) was in favour of strengthening local bodies system but the plan in this regard announced by the government was direct intervention in the affairs of the provinces.
He claimed that the army monitoring system adopted by the government has turned out to be a failure calling for doing away with this system.
He asked the government to withdraw hijacking case against Nawaz Sharif, saying that it would be in the better interest of the government of General Pervez Musharraf.ÑPPI
