Hotel management
institute to be
completed by
June
ISLAMABAD: Pak-Austrian Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (PAITHM) at Gulli Bagh, on the banks of Swat river Swat will be completed by June this year.
This unique and first ever institute of learning hotel management is being constructed by Austrian government at a cost of Rs 150 million and will be handed over to Pakistan government as a goodwill gesture.
According to PTDC sources, Pakistan government will also contribute in shape of water supply and electricity which comes to almost one third of the entire project.
About the project, they said PAITHM will be completed within a record time aimed at promoting and creating awareness about tourism in Pakistan. The Austrian government has already donated the project at Malam Jabba to Pakistan government.
On initial basis, the building of the institute will comprise A classrooms to accommodate more than 400 students.
And, the principal and 6 teachers will come from Austria for a period of three years.
A hotel for private people having 26 luxurious rooms will also be available at the site to generate finances for the Institute.
The construction of the Institute had started in December, 1997.
It may be recalled that Austrian government has already gifted Malam Jabba Resort with a chair-lift and skiing facilities.ÑAPP
