KARACHI: All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (APNEC) and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) have felicitated the newly elected office bearers of All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS).

In a joint statement Chairman APNEC Abdul Hameed Chhapra, Secretary General Pervez Shaukat, President PFUJ I. H. Rashed and Secretary General Fauzia Shahid, congratulated Mir Shakilur Rehman and Arshad Zuberi on their re-election as President and Secretary General of APNS.

They said it is heartening that newspaper managements have once again reposed their confidence in their new leadership and with whom the representative bodies of journalists and press workers can easily establish rapport for the progress of newspaper industry.

The APNEC and PFUJ leader urged Mir Shakil and Arshad Zuberi to nominate APNS representatives for the 7th Wage Board without any further delay so that concerned authorities could announce the Board's formation.

They expressed the confidence that young and energetic APNS office-bearers would spend their energies and valuable time in safeguarding the rights of journalists and newspaper workers side by side striving for solving the industry's problems.ÑAPP
