Govt's plan to curb smuggled goods sale flayed

Lahore: All Pakistan Organisation of Small Traders and Cottage Industries (APOSTCI) has criticized the government's proposed plan aimed at checking the sale of the smuggled goods in various markets.
According to a press release, which was issued here on Monday, Sh. Mohammad Mushtaq, Provincial chief of the Association said at a meeting of the traders that present government like previous governments planned to check sale of smuggled items in a wrong way.
He was of the view the government must take steps against smugglers instead of conducting raids at the shops of traders. He asked the government to take the traders community into confidence before launching any crackdown in this regard.
APOSTCI, President Ansar Zahoor Butt, Lahore Division stated that the government should not show any haste in implementing the agenda of the World Bank and the IMF.
