KINSHASA: At least 101 people died in an explosion and fire at an arms depot on Friday at Kinshasa's International Airport, hospital officials said on Sunday.

The cause of the incident was not immediately known, but Information Minister Didier Mumengi said on Saturday that authorities were not ruling out either sabotage or an accident.

The depot is located in the military area of Ndjili Airport east of the DRC capital. AFP
