NANKANA SAHIB: Arrangements in connection with the visit of Sikh yatrees from all over the world, on the occasion of 301st Besakhi Mela, have been finalised by the Evacuee Trust Property Board, district and local administration and other relevant agencies.

About 10,000 yatrees from India, USA, UK, Iran, Malaysia, Uganda, UAE, Afghanistan and interior parts of Pakistan will participate in the Mela.

Celebrations will start here at Gurudawara Janam Asthan on arrival of Indian Sikh yatrees from Hassan Abdal on April 14, who have already reached Pakistan on April 10 on a 10-day visit for the Besakhi Mela.

They will visit Gurudawara Sacha Sauda, Sheikhupura on April 15. From Nankana Sahib they will proceed to Lahore on April 16.

The Assistant Commissioner, Nankana Sahib presided over a special meeting in this regard, attended by senior police and other officals. Various decisions to provide all possible facilities to the Sikh pilgrims were taken, and arrangements finalised for their stay here from April 14 to April 16.

He as well as the Incharge Monitoring Cell reviewed arrangements by concerned officials to improve the traffic system and availability of ambulance and fire brigade to meet any emergency.

They emphasised maintenance of law and order and availability of life saving drugs at the dispensary located at the Gurudawara Janam Asthan.

The Assistant Commissioner also directed Civil Defence and Bomb Disposal officials to stay alert with necessary equipment and ensure security checks at all entry and departure points of the visitors.ÑAPP
