3 narcotics peddlar, held, heroin seized

Lahore: A special team of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday raided a village in Ferozwala area and arrested three drug sellers along with heavy quantity of heroin and hashish.

The team, headed by Joint Director Col Manzar Akbar and comprising assistant directors Capt Mian Farooq Aziz and Mohammad Riaz Soomro and Inspector Afzal Asim, also apprehended a number of addicts from the area.

The ANF team, on a tip off, raided village Wandawla Dial Shah, in the jurisdiction of Ferozwala police station, to arrest the drug pushers.

The accused, who had taken shelter in nearby fields, opened fire on the team. The ANF personnel retaliated and arrested three accused Jamil alias Jilo, Mohammad Jamil alias Sain and Mohammad Ijaz and seized 2 kg of heroin and heavy quantity of hashish . One accused, who was injured in exchange of fire, was also arrested. However, one culprit while riding a motorbike managed to flee.

According to ANF officials, they also recovered ammunition including a number of bullets from the three accused.
