Jica to aid promotion of plastic industry

LAHORE: Japan International Cooperation Association (Jica) will provide assistance for promotion of plastic industry in Pakistan.

This was stated by Kyoko Kuwajma, head of JICA delegation during a meeting with the office-bearers of the Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association. The delegation is currently visiting Pakistan for studying the working of the Pakistan plastic industry, says a press release issued here on Monday.

Kyoko stated that Japan had already announced Rs 800 million for development of plastic industry in Pakistan and to harmonise it with demands of the contemporary world.

The delegation was welcomed by the Chairman of the Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association, Mohammad Ali Mian. He apprised the delegation about working and problems of the plastic industry.

He welcomed Jica announcement for assisting Pakistani industry and hoped it would go a long way.
