CE briefed on preparatory arrangements for G-77 group

LAHORE: The former President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), and Former President of G-77 Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tariq Sayeed, who is accompanying the Pakistani delegation led by Gen. Pervez Musharraf proceeded to Havana to attend the Ist Summit of G-77 Group had briefed the Chief Executive about the preparatory arrangements, which were already held in Havana to hold the Summit.

According to a press release issued here on Monday by the FPCCI, Sayeed while briefing the CE about the officially recognised trade body of G-77 Chamber of Commerce and Industry, apprised him about the recommendation that G-77 Group has made to increase the inter-action for economic prosperity and boosting of business, investment, transfer of technology and other programme within the group countries.

Pakistan proposed in Costa Rica in January 1997 to hold this summit in Havana, which was accepted by the member countries, the release added.

The visit of high powered Pakistani delegation is bound to bring most effective results beside increasing inter-action and South-South cooperation in every sector of life, the release concluded.
